Photography
I took photos here and there throughout my life. I did not consider it a serious hobby until about 2005 when I bought a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera.
In 2023 I sold all my pro photography equipment. I no longer manage a Flickr account of digital photos since I decided to reduce my internet footprint.
2019 Harvest Moon Run
Charity 5K Event
Lead Photographer
Eureka, Missouri
October 12, 2019
The Harvest Moon Run committee asked if I would volunteer to manage the photos and video being taken during the annual charity event. Afterwards, I edited the images and uploaded them to Flickr. I obtained a PRO Flickr account for them since the group is a 501(c)3 organization. They used some of my images (uncredited!) for social media and newspaper publication.

‘Gathering to give’
Wed, Nov. 21, 2018 – Vol. 3, No. 6
I was one of a handful of volunteer photographers for the event. Besides taking still images of the event setup and participant activity, I took video footage of the race at the start/finish line. One of my images was used in an article in the local printed newspaper.

“Polo For Ponies”
Advertisment Poster
Gussie Busch on horseback
Fall, 2017
This was one of those ‘being at the right place at the right time’ moments. I happened to be wandering along the sideline of a polo match, when I saw this photo op. Follow, ‘Click’, done. It wasn’t until later that I noticed how well it turned out; a clear shot, good light and color, great composition.
Jody Staples Ladner of Canter Illinois charity group chose it to appear on a poster advertising a charity polo match the group was organizing for August 26, 2017.
You can see the image is reversed on the poster. Poster artist is Kristin Anderson Redington.
Lodi Staples Ladner: “… We are grateful for your donation of your time and talent. You donated 1.5 days of professional photography services as well as countless hours editing and publishing. You also donated shooting, production and publishing of a professional video of the event …”

Fall, 2017
I was asked by Jodi Staples Ladner if I would take some photos during a polo match where many of the horses being ridden were once race horses. One of the photos would be targeted for an ad in St. Louis Benefit Polo’s Summer 2017 magazine. Jodi eventually selected one with Jasmine Gallegos as the rider. Ad design work by Joan Curtis.

Decided to see if I could get a free pass to the first public polo match at the polo field by offering to take pictures at no charge. I approached owner Ida Baisch, who thought that was a good idea. A local newspaper wrote a story about the match and used a few of my photos from that day.
